You've seen the leaks...you've been teased by the name...you've wondered, "What in the world is this guy talking about?" Today, those questions will only slightly begin to be answered. We are proud to officially announce....YINZERCON! Now let's go through some of the details:
What is YINZERCON? It's a celebration of all things Western Pennsylvania. The people, the food, the lingo, the warmth, the unapologetic pride in their hometowns that people from this area have and spread with them around the world.
When is YINZERCON? Saturday, April 15, right here at Remixxd HQ in Belle Vernon's Amcel Center. Exact times TBA, but I would suggest to get out your calendar now and block off your afternoon.
Who is YINZERCON? It's all of us, me and you and all our friends, and it's some of Western PA's biggest and best-known celebrities and brands. Announcements on who will be attending are underway!
Why is YINZERCON? Because a Yinzer thought, "Wouldn't it be cool to have a bunch of everything and everyone we love together at one time?" Plus, you have to admit, the name makes you smile 😀
YINZERCON GUEST CONFIRMATION! We're so excited to announce that Mary Ours, superstar meteorologist at KDKA-TV, will be joining us at YINZERCON on April 15 for a meet and greet, with autographs, Tik-Tok videos, and selfies!
A native of Beaver Falls and a Point Park grad, Mary is Western Pennsylvania through and through. She joined KDKA in 2019 after interning there in 2011, then found her way back to Pittsburgh via WTOV9 in Steubenville, Ohio and WJAC-TV in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Some fun facts about Mary: she started her own event to help victims of 9/11 when she was 12 years old; her favorite word is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious; her guilty pleasure is "The Bachelor" franchise; and most importantly, she loves to spend time with her husband, children and her pomsky Jasper!
Mary has a very loyal following on social media, with over 54,000 followers on Instagram, 31,000 on Facebook, and another 23,000 watching her dance on Tik-Tok! We are so very lucky to be able to work with Mary and can't thank her enough for helping to make this event a reality!
