Signed rookie cards are all the rage now, but years ago, it was considered a bad idea to get a coveted rookie card from yesteryear autographed. As a result, authentic signed versions of the 1963 Topps Willie Stargell are among the rarest in the hobby. Stargell passed away in 2001, the very day PNC Park in Pittsburgh was to open. While Willie signed many autographs during his days, he missed the autographed rookie card craze that has since captured the attention of the hobby, so signed examples of this HOFer are few and far between.
This card has been authenticated by PSA/DNA with an autograph grade of 10. For the Stargell fan, the Pirates fan, the signed rookie HOF collector, this is a card that is simply not seen very often.
